Day at the DMZ part 2
After the museum we left for lunch and then we headed for the DMZ! On the way in I snuck a picture of the entrance and the officers! Once we were inside we were told to sign a waiver that gave the rules and a warning saying "it's possible you may get killed!" We were assured that if we did as we were told we would be fine! On the way to DMZ and in the DMZ they had these things that were made to look like bridges but they were really tank barriers with dynamite inside....if the North were to ever attack the South with tanks they would blow up the columns and the top would collapse down blocking the tanks from crossing! In the meeting room they gave us a short telling of the DMZ and the story about the ax murder incident. Another thing mom and I found interesting was the North side had built a tower with their flag flying high so everyone on both sides could see it! A few years later the South built one that was was taller than the North. Right after the North saw what happened they built theirs so much bigger (as shown in one of the pictures).
